FourOh-LLC is a DNS provider, and we are in the position to affect the way the internet operates and evolves. Any action against the global Domain Name Service is noted here, and our clear, no-nonsense response to it is documented and timestamped.
To Whom it may Concern,
The sale of the .org Top Level Domain to the venture capitalist firm Ethos Capital, as it was announced on December 01, 2019 is unethical, and it is an aggressive attempt to generate more profit by more control - instead of by more innovation. FourOh-LLC categorically refuses to pay the planned 10% price increase per year, for something that was never designed to be a revenue generating resource, and especially not on the level of revenue that is desired by a Venture Capitalist Firm. That is, we are not talking about a Corporation like Facebook who must, at least on the surface, show concerns regarding the welfare of its user base. The .ORG domain was sold to a Venture Capitalist who has no such concerns, and places profit above all else.
This is entirely the fault of the Internet Society, and the claim by the Internet Society that this is going to result in anything else but higher prices for the lease of the .org TLD is illogical. Venture Capitalist Firms do not invest into organizations, just the opposite - they drain the equity from the organization until there is nothing left.
As a response, we are not going to host any .org domain in the foreseeable future, and none of our .org domains going to be renewed. As an alternative we are going to lease cheaper, less known TLDs and innovate to make them more popular, more accepted and more used. You are invited to do the same until venture capitalist firms stop looking at the global domain name space as an investment vehicle.
We project that Ethos Investment is planning on doubling the 1.3 Billion investment in 10 years, then selling the gutted, ruined .org TLD to someone else - maybe back to the Internet Society. We want no part of this on .org, or on any other TLDs. If you are a .org owner, today is a good time to start migrating to a different TLD.
Factory 4.0 Open Initiative, LLC. is withdrawing from the Internet Society, as we no longer recognize it as an ethical entity with the authority to represent the best interest of the internet community. We have requested the cancellation of our membership on January 6, 2020 07:15 AM Central Standard Time.

The mission of Factory 4.0 Open Initiative, Inc. is to create a fundamental set of user-controlled resources. A user-controlled DNS infrastructure is a natural fit, and we are going to create our own TLDs - see Network Information Center for more details.
